Montenegro Jazz Suite “Setajuci pored Ljubovica” – Love Song

“This is the second piece in the Montenegro Jazz Suite. Maja Popovich asked me to write a suite of pieces based on Montenegrin Folk Music for Choir,String Ensemble and Jazz Quartet. I decided to take the listener on a trip through many of the aspects of love–sometimes gentle,sometimes angry,etc. Stjepko Gut played the trumpet and flugelhorn, Ehud Asherie-Piano, Tom Melito-Drums and Pat O’Leary -Bass (arranger). Zoja Durovic conducted the Choir and Irena Vukovic conducted the String Ensemble.Ehud played a wonderful improvised cadenza just before the ensemble closes the piece with the theme in G Major. This concert was filmed at The Kic Center in Podgorica, Montenegro on June 21st,2009. Everyone did a great job considering the amount of time allowed for rehearsal(s).”
